I don’t know anyone that doesn’t love a good smoothie on a summer’s day.
But unfortunately, they contain a lot of sugar with all the fruits and other sweeteners like honey. Luckily we created a 4 ingredient smoothie that doesn’t contain a lot of sugar!
This smoothie has a lovely creamy texture because of the coconut milk and has a little sweetness because of the blueberries. The berries are also a great source of antioxidants and are relatively low in sugar for a fruit. But watch out! If you start putting coconut milk in your smoothies, there’s no going back.
Ingredients
- 100g of blueberries (half a cup)
- Half a can of coconut milk (200ml)
- 200ml of (coconut) water
- A scoop of your favourite (vegan) protein powder
Optional add-in ingredients
- Coconut flakes as a topping for some extra fanciness
- Green leafy veggies
- Leafy green vegetables, like rucola and spinach, are an important part of a healthy diet. They’re packed with vitamins, minerals, fibre and are low in calories. Leafy greens offer a ton of health benefits including reduced risk of obesity, high blood pressure, mental decline and heart diseases.
Instructions
- Put all your ingredients in your blender
- Turn the blender on and blend until smooth
- Pour your smoothie in a glass and top it off with some whole blueberries (and optional some coconut flakes)
